Trauma-informed counseling is different from regular therapy because it specifically focuses on understanding and healing the impact of trauma on both the mind and body, addressing symptoms like anxiety, nightmares, hypervigilance, or difficulty trusting others.
Types of trauma-informed therapy we offer
If you're finding it tough to cope or move forward, or if past events are still affecting your present, trauma-informed counseling could help guide you toward healing in a way that truly honors your experience.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a powerful therapy designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences by using bilateral stimulation (often through eye movements) to rewire how the brain processes memories. It’s effective for those dealing with PTSD, sexual assault, childhood abuse, or other overwhelming life events. Both men and women can benefit from EMDR, especially if they're experiencing distressing flashbacks, anxiety, or emotional numbness tied to trauma.
ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy)
ART helps individuals quickly and effectively reframe traumatic memories by using guided imagery and visualization techniques. It's ideal for those who have experienced traumatic events such as car accidents, combat, or emotional trauma like domestic violence or severe bullying. ART is particularly helpful for both men and women who are struggling with intrusive thoughts, nightmares, or heightened emotional reactions tied to past trauma.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
TF-CBT combines cognitive behavioral therapy techniques with trauma-sensitive strategies to help individuals process and manage the emotional and psychological effects of trauma. This therapy is often used for trauma related to childhood abuse, domestic violence, grief, or personal loss. It's a great option for both women and men who need a structured approach to challenge negative thoughts, cope with difficult emotions, and rebuild a sense of safety and trust.
Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAP)
Ketamine-Assisted Therapy combines the use of a medically administered dose of ketamine with talk therapy to help individuals process deep trauma and emotional wounds. It’s particularly effective for individuals struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders that haven’t responded to traditional treatments. Both men and women benefit from KAP, especially if they’re dealing with chronic trauma or feelings of emotional detachment that make traditional therapy challenging.
